Terms and Conditions for Maverick Outdoors

1. Definitions and Scope

"Company", "we", "us" refers to Home On Wheels Ltd, trading as Maverick Outdoors. "Customer", "you", refers to any individual or entity purchasing our products or services. "Products" means campervans, custom conversions, kits, accessories and any goods sold. "Services" means design, build, conversion, consultancy, delivery and installation services. "Working Agreement" means any quote, contract, specification sheet or signed build agreement.

 

2. Quotations and Appointments

2.1 All quotes are valid for 14 days unless otherwise stated. 2.2 Estimates are subject to change based on availability, supplier costs or additional requests. 2.3 Changes to specifications after acceptance may incur additional charges. 2.4 Appointments are recommended. Visits to the workshop must be pre-arranged for safety and continuity.

 

3. Orders and Deposits

3.1 For stock vans:

  • A booking deposit of £500 is required

  • A £1,000 non-refundable deposit is required to secure the van, including the £50 deposit.

3.2 For custom conversions:

  • A £500 non-refundable booking deposit secures your slot.

 

4. Payment Terms

4.1 Full payment must be made before collection of the vehicle or dispatch of goods.

4.1.1 First payment will be 50% of the estimate or quoted amount minus the initial booking deposit, (estimated 6 weeks before drop-off date).

4.1.2 Second payment on drop-off is 25% of the estimated or quoted amount.

4.1.3 Final payment on collection is 25% of the estimated or quoted amount. Payment must be made before driving the van away.

4.2 Accepted payment method is bank transfer. Any bank card payments will incur a 3% transaction fee. 4.3 If payment is delayed by more than 48 hours following a reminder, the build may be suspended.

 

5. Cancellation Policy

5.1 Orders may be cancelled within 1 hour without penalty. Beyond this, deposits are forfeited. 5.2 Custom work cannot be cancelled once parts are ordered or work has commenced. 5.3 If you cancel after work has started, Maverick Outdoors may deduct costs incurred or retain the full amount paid.

 

6. Retention of Ownership

6.1 All goods remain property of Maverick Outdoors until full payment is received. 6.2 In cases of non-payment, we reserve the right to remove installed components equivalent to the unpaid value.

 

7. Products and Materials

7.1 Images are for illustration. Bespoke items may differ in appearance. 7.2 We may substitute materials for equal or better alternatives due to supplier availability. 7.3 Customer-supplied products must be approved by us. We accept no liability for their suitability or safety.

 

8. Vehicle Requirements and Customer Responsibilities

8.1 Customers must deliver a clean, rust-free and watertight vehicle for conversion. 8.2 All personal items must be removed prior to delivery. We are not responsible for lost belongings. 8.3 Vehicles delivered late may impact completion dates. Storage fees may apply for overdue collections.

8.4 During the build various mechanical work will be undertaken on the van where parts will need to be removed and re-placed. Where a part is damaged or needs replacement by this process, and only where the technician used appropriate methods to remove, the customer will be liable for costs incurred to rectify. (An example is an older van has a rusty hand-break cable hook, that while the technician tensions to hook back onto the body of the van snaps. The technician acted appropriately but due to nature of work conducted the part failed. The part and labour to replace would be covered by the customer.)

8.5 Customers must provide locking wheel nuts, radio codes and paint codes where applicable before work commences.

8.6 If we are not informed in writing of any special access needs, adaptations or physical limitations at the time of quoting, we cannot be held responsible if the final design does not meet these requirements.

 

9. Completion and Collection

9.1 Estimated completion dates are indicative. Delays due to supply chain, technical issues or changes may occur. 9.2 Vehicles must be collected within 7 days of completion. After this, storage charges may apply.

 

10. Warranty

10.1 Our conversions are covered by a 12-month warranty unless otherwise stated. 10.2 The warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials, not wear, misuse, or third-party modifications. 10.3 Warranty claims must be reported in writing with photo evidence. Vehicles may need to return to our workshop. 10.4 Third-party work without our consent may void the warranty. 10.5 Manufacturer warranties apply to individual components where relevant.

10.6 Vehicle warranties are provided by a third party warranty company and should be the first point of contact for any vehicle warranty claims.

 

11. Returns and Refunds

11.1 Custom builds are non-refundable. 11.2 Standard camper kits and accessories may be returned within 14 days if unused and in original packaging. 11.3 Returns must be pre-approved. Return shipping is at the customer's cost. 11.4 Refunds are issued upon inspection. Original delivery charges are non-refundable.

 

12. Limitation of Liability

12.1 We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses. 12.2 Our total liability is limited to the value of the product or service purchased. 12.3 No liability is accepted for damages to existing equipment unless caused by proven negligence.

 

13. Intellectual Property

13.1 All content, including manuals, videos, and branding remains the intellectual property of Maverick Outdoors. 13.2 Reproduction or redistribution without written consent is prohibited.

 

14. Subcontracting

14.1 We may subcontract certain services (e.g. paintwork, electrical testing, window fitting). We remain responsible for overall quality.

 

15. Complaints Procedure

15.1 Complaints must be submitted via email (hello@maverickoutdoors.co.uk) or post to our registered address. 15.2 We will acknowledge within 3 working days of receipt and investigate within 10–20 working days depending on complexity. 15.3 A written resolution will be provided including any proposed actions. 15.4 If unresolved, customers may escalate the matter to a director. Final decisions are issued within 10 working days. 15.5 If still dissatisfied, you may contact Citizens Advice at www.citizensadvice.org.uk. 15.6 All complaints are logged and monitored for quality improvement.

 

16. Governing Law

These terms are governed by English law. Disputes shall be handled under the jurisdiction of the English courts.

 

17. Photography & Marketing

17.1 We may use photographs of completed work for marketing purposes. If you wish to opt out, please inform us in writing prior to your build slot.

 

18. Insurance & Risk

18.1 Your vehicle is insured under our motor trade policy while in our care. However, you must also keep your own insurance policy active. 18.2 Vehicles delivered or collected outside working hours are left at your own risk unless arranged with us in writing.
