What we collect and why

When you get in touch. If you message us on WhatsApp, email us, call us or send us a build from the configurator, we receive what you send: your name, your contact details, and the details of the van and conversion you are interested in. We use this to answer you and prepare a quote.

When you become a customer. We keep the information needed to carry out your conversion and meet our legal duties: your name and address, contact details, vehicle details, your specification, payment records, and messages and photos exchanged during the build and for warranty and aftercare.

Photos and video of builds. We photograph and film completed projects for our portfolio, website and social media, as set out in our terms and conditions. You can opt out by telling us in writing before work starts. We blur number plates on this website.

Our legal reasons

• Contract: to quote for, carry out and support your conversion.
• Legal obligation: to keep accounting and tax records.
• Legitimate interests: to answer enquiries, improve our service, and show our work.
• Consent: for analytics cookies, and for any marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.

This website

The configurator remembers your build in your own browser so it is still there when you come back. It is not sent to us unless you choose to send it. A build link contains your chosen options, not your name or contact details.

Cookies. We do not set tracking cookies unless you accept them. If you accept, we use Google Analytics to see how the site is used. You can decline, and the site works the same.

Services that load with the site. Our pages are delivered by Cloudflare, and fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Like any website host, these services see your IP address when your browser requests a page. Videos on build pages are embedded from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode.

WhatsApp. Tapping a WhatsApp button opens WhatsApp, which is run by Meta. Nothing is sent until you send the message. Your messages to us are then subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy as well as this one.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We share it only where needed:

• with specialist subcontractors working on your vehicle, for example for paintwork, wrap, upholstery or tow bars;
• with suppliers and manufacturers, where needed for a warranty claim;
• with the providers of the tools we use to run the business, such as email, messaging, accounting and website hosting;
• with authorities, where the law requires it.

Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law provides for.

How long we keep it

• Customer and payment records: six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, to meet tax and accounting rules, or longer where a warranty is still running.
• Enquiries that do not become an order: up to two years, so we can pick up the conversation if you come back.
• Photos and video of builds: for as long as they are useful for showing our work, unless you ask us to remove them.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, to have it transferred, and to withdraw consent. To use any of these, email hello@maverickoutdoors.co.uk. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if what we do changes. This version is dated October 2026.
